Greg McEwan, musician, impassioned scholar of ancient anthropology and tribal spiritualism, environmentalist, singer and songwriter, is the front-man of RÉUNION, a strong advocate of personal, societal, and institutional transformation.

A number of life-changing events led Greg out of the corporate business sector in 2002 to return to his roots as a musician. The first song he wrote “Angels Never Fly Away” was produced and arranged by long-time friend Duncan Mackay and led to the awakening of a musical collaboration, which resulted in the formation of RÉUNION and the completion of an 11-track album “The First Time” in May of 2004.

The album took 18 months to record during which time Greg’s voice transformed as the music evolved, developing a unique trademark sound, which together with powerful Afro-rock instrumentation has become the prominent signature of RÉUNION.

Greg’s partnership with Duncan Mackay works in a very special way, neither musician bringing any pre-conceived ideas to the songwriting process. Ideas flow freely as songs develop.

Greg creates the on-stage visuals, which form a big part of the live performance. The Planet Lion Earth Tour, which is currently in its initial preparation phase, will showcase many ancient symbols from pre-historic and mythological times. The process has taken 6 months and is still evolving. Greg believes that it is important to accurately portray ancient cultures and tribal symbols with relevant respect to the people and tribes who created them. Many of these cultures have been devalued and sidelined in the past, and it is because of this that their wisdom and teachings enshrined in their visual symbols and rituals are so precious and important to humanity today.

Greg’s passion lies in the research of ancient tribal culture and pre-historic mythology. This will be brought on-stage by state-of-the-art theatrical interpretations. The visuals embody and display a timeline of events, which travel through ancient times to our present day. Combining “visual symbolic” with musical performance will bring a whole new concept of theatre to the stage. Certain key events have been turning points, shaping society and moulding our belief systems. These have led us to the position in which we find ourselves today. Global reality, in truth, is not all that it seems to be, and the purpose of the planned RÉUNION tour, is to highlight this with music and visuals on stage in an adventure of discovery.
